Good morning everyone! 5/15

Good morning!

Mom and dad are feeling much better! Feeling rested, much more sleep and some great food. We got home around 4:00pm and let me tell you the dogs were so excited to see us. It was amazing moose was whining and jumping around because he was so excited to see us Dottie laid down at brandis feet as a sign of respect for bringing a new person into this world it was a amazing thing to see her do that. We did bring a couple blankets home from the hospital that Walker slept in and both dogs just wanted to sniff them. We thought this is a great way to introduce his scent into the house so they will be used to it when he comes home. I do want to pause and thank aunt susan for clearing her schedule and coming to our house and taking care of our fur babies. Not only did she take care of them but cleaned our house. I can’t thank her enough for doing all of that with such short notice! We did take her and mom out to dinner last night and went to Brandis favorite Mexican restaurant, the craving of chips and salsa and cheese dip was Met.

We did come back home and found lots of packages on the front porch and wanted to say thank you so much for the people that sent stuff to the house was amazing to get things for walker! The gift showered on this little warrior is unbelievable! Before we went to bed we did call down and got an update on him and the little guy is still improving there had been improvement in his breathing and reduce his oxygen levels down to 25% which is great! Normal atmospheric oxygen is 21% so he is doing amazing!! Huge win! We did finally go to bed and got some amazing rest and amazing snuggles from the dogs.

When we woke up this morning we felt so recharged Brandi did have to get up a couple times during the night to get nutrients which she is a rockstar! She is producing so much for him that the doctors are so proud of her. They say she is 4-5 days ahead of schedule which is amazing!

We did get a phone call from his team this morning while they are making their rounds which we love and they went over his evening stats and no change on the oxygen! Huge news! A normal heart rate all night long! Huge news! Some of his levels did drop a little but that is getting fixed as we speak, they are starting light therapy with him today as a preventative measure of jaundice. His urine output has improved, and all in all a big improvement night!

He has three consultations today that will happen after we get there. Neurologist, Cardiologist, and his respiratory team.

We woke up and saw the sun and thought let’s soak up some of this great energy and bring it to Walker today as he is improving and want to bring more positive energy to him. We will give much verbal encouragement and the doctors did tell us this morning that holding him is a top priority as it is one of the best forms of medicine for him and us.

Thank you all again for all of your encouragement and support. We do have something in the works for people that want to help. We decided a go fund me will be one of the best forms but we do think uber gift cards will be great as well with us taking one vehicle down to be with him and someone needs to get to an appointment at another hospital or needing some food will be the best thing. Brandi did want me to say that he does still have some stuff on his baby registry as well and will include the link in this post. We are still working on the go fund me with a family member that is great on setting those up.

Very early May 13th

Good evening/Good morning! Walker first full day in this world was a day of tests. Started the morning with an attempt at a pic line IV for him have better access for meditations, and things that will help with his sugars, electrolytes, and salts. Also with the IV he has right now we aren’t able to hold him with the placement of it. It is not in very far. That wasn’t successful due to how windy his vessels are. After that he got an xray to check on how his lungs and they are clearing up! Fluids are starting to leave and let him use his lungs. After that Brandi came down and checked on him and got to spend some time with him she has been absolutely amazing with getting him the nutrients that he needs. We let the doctors come in and do an echocardiogram on his heart and do some imaging. Good morning! 5/13 morning update

Good morning everyone! Yes we have all slept. We will start with that. I wanted to thank everyone that are enjoying these updates. This is so much easier for us to post here and get the information to everyone rather than individual texts to everyone. I have made comments open as well and we are reading them on here. Thank everyone for your support. Recap: Last night after we got here to children’s they started right in giving him the best care and wanted to get a picc line established. His first two hours here we were successful on that getting put it! (Huge win!). After that it got pretty quiet in the room with him, Brandi was updated and FaceTimed with him and we all went to sleep. 5/11 morning update. Happy Mother’s Day!

Good morning everyone! First I want to say happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there. Want to give a big shout out to my mother Janet for being the rockstar that she is! She has been doing everything she can help us with everything. Second my wife, Brandi you have shown you are ready for motherhood and you are one of the strongest women I have ever met, I am beyond proud and privileged that you are the mother to Walker. You are killing it! Now the update you all came here to read, it has been an interesting night! Last night the nurses came in to do the last monitoring session of the day for Walker and the little guys heart rate has gone down! Went down to much! Was at 90-98 so he had everyone pretty freaked out and had every doctor from the OB on full alert, we gave him some time watching him on the ultrasound and his heart rate came back up to normal rhythm.
