Very early May 13th

Good evening/Good morning!

Walker first full day in this world was a day of tests. Started the morning with an attempt at a pic line IV for him have better access for meditations, and things that will help with his sugars, electrolytes, and salts. Also with the IV he has right now we aren’t able to hold him with the placement of it. It is not in very far. That wasn’t successful due to how windy his vessels are. After that he got an xray to check on how his lungs and they are clearing up! Fluids are starting to leave and let him use his lungs. After that Brandi came down and checked on him and got to spend some time with him she has been absolutely amazing with getting him the nutrients that he needs. We let the doctors come in and do an echocardiogram on his heart and do some imaging. At this time his blood sugars had started to level out yesterday very low and this morning very high so that was a win!

we all went upstairs and let the doctors check on Brandi and make sure she is still recovering. She passed all the tests they had her do. While we upstairs they did an abdominal ultrasound and a cranial ultrasound , We’re still waiting for the results of those tests. At that time the doctors cleared about two hours of the day to let us have the room with him take some photos that I will attach. We got to hang out with him hold his hands give him his swaddle from home, and get to just soak up as much time as we could. After this the team came in and needed a clean room and to try and get a pic line in. Brandi went back upstairs and was able to take a nap, I hung outside his room to just be close to him and then took a walk around the UW campus to enjoy the sun we had today.

We let the doctors take there time and weren’t successful on the pic line and called us and raised some worries of his electrolytes and salts and werent able to get those in with all the other things he had going in. The little turkey hadn’t gone to the bathroom as well. So we enjoyed some dinner and let Walker rest. Let the new shift get settled in for the night and then brought down some nutrients for him and then got the news that he wasn’t progressing well and they thought it would be best for him to transfer to Seattle children’s. So Brandi came down and we got about 30 minutes with before the children’s crew came in and started getting him ready for transport. Luckily they were willing to take me with them, at this point we were both very stressed and scared. The transport did an amazing job getting him here. Brandi and Janet are still at UW until Brandi get discharged.

We arrived at children’s and straight up his room where he met 20 or so team members that are excited to get him everything he needs. We got him out of the transport isolet and on his new bed and guess what! The turkey finally went to the bathroom! And everyone went are you kidding me! Everyone giggled. The staff here is just as wonderful as the UW staff. Before we got here Janet stated he is a little warrior, and that stuck with me and was talking to nurses and we have “Walker The Warrior” on his board. I think this is gonna be his nickname for a while. As I am writing this the children’s team has done all of his exams of a new patient and are in trying to get his pic line already. Walker and I FaceTimed mom before they started that and looked at mom on the phone. We talked to him and told him to quit giving them such a hard time with this line as it will help you better. Hopefully he listens to us.

currently in Brandi and I new little room inside walkers room listening to them do everything they can for our sweet boy.

I do want to thank all of Walkers Warriors for the kind words, calls, text, thoughts, prayers, and support. I do want to thank the UW staff for all of there hard work, compassion, support and communication for our little guy. He is truly in the best place for him at children’s and excited for mom to join us tomorrow. Thank you everyone.

Love Tyler, Brandi, Walker the Warrior, and Glamma
