5/19 evening post! Some important links in here as well

Good evening!

Today was a very busy day! Walker was a very popular guy today. He met with ENT, endocrinologist, orthopedic, cranial facial, podiatry.

We did get his ct scan results and cranial facial came in and showed everything. They explained a lot, showed us the scans and explained every detail and was great. They did explain to us that he will need a surgery around 1 year old for some stuff in his skull which we knew about and was better news than we thought. And he reassured us that this is some fixable things. When orthopedic they told us that the things they are looking at will not be on the radar till his is at least a year old maybe older so that was good news. Endocrinologist came in and said they want to see him in a couple weeks. And then ENT we had them come in twice the first one came in said that they saw that one of his nostrils is open at 3.5 mm which is the size of a aux cord now and the right side was inconclusive. So they weren’t exactly sure what to do he got a phone call and had to get to something else, second one came in and said he isn’t sure if we should continue with extubation just yet and want him to have a few good days of him breathing much without much help from the ventilator. So we are in a spot where we will see what tomorrow brings with his breathing tube to come out. Ophthalmologist did come in and did some tests as well and was happy to see he was responsive to light and was a little early for them to make decisive decisions on what they can say about his vision. She did say with him responsive to light that things are looking bright for him! (Pun intended)

Brandi did get about 1.5 hours of skin to skin during all of this. Towards the end of skin to skin Walker decided that he wanted to go back into SVT (super fast heart rate) we were able to get him back out of it after about two minutes. We are still uncertain on what’s causing this and we are probably going to hear from cardiology tomorrow.

All in all today was a good day we got a lot of great news about the little warrior, there was a couple things that weren’t so great but today was a big win!

one of our close family friends that is great with this stuff did start a gofundme for the little warrior. It is tough for us to ask for help as we are always wanting to help others. I will post the link here and do appreciate everyone that donates and if you can’t we totally understand and just ask if you can share it as Walker is a warrior and hope he can be role model of how strong kids are! He is a fighter and makes me feel so proud of how strong he is! He is one of my hero’s now!

Thank you everyone hope you have a great night!

Walker, Brandi, Tyler
