Walkers story

Hi friends and family,

Tyler and I have an update on our little boy Walker that we feel is now time to share with everyone.

We are currently admitted at UW due to Walker’s heart having trouble pumping correctly, his heart rate has been very elevated in the 240’s, which is almost double what it should be. I’m currently trialing medications to try and help his heart rate come back down, but it’s tricky due to the fact my heart doesn’t need the medications so I’m having to be monitored as well.

There’s another part to this story that we are finally ready to share with all our people. At our 20 week anatomy scan, Walker was being he’s stubborn self and didn’t allow the ultrasound techs to get all the images. Due to that we ended up with Maternal Fetal Medicine who found concerns with his hands being clenched and a fluid level in his brain being abnormal by 1mm. Doesnt sound like too much to worry about but the combination of the two together was concern for neurological disorder. We kept checking on him through ultrasounds and eventually at 30 weeks got an MRI of his brain which showed several abnormal mild findings, all of which they can’t compare any previous case studies to, to know exactly what we are looking at for Walker’s future. We chose to continue the fight for Walker and want to bring him into this world and give him the best chance at a normal life as possible. His disabilities could range from mild (learning disabilities) but likely moderate (learning disabilities, extra help with some daily life activities) and there’s the possibility of severe (needing 24 hour care). There’s also a slight chance these “abnormalities” could be his normal, we simply won’t know until he’s here in our arms and we watch him learn and grow.

The news of his brain abnormalities was a lot to take in for Tyler and I, and now we have his heart to worry about.

We are finally sharing our story because our little boy can use all the prays from our people. This could be a long challenging road for us 3 but we are ready to help Walker fight and give him the best life and outcome we can.

So please, if you have a moment every now and then, add our sweet boy to your prayers. We are so thankful to everyone who has been on the sidelines keeping us going, supporting us and that are rooting for Walker and his life. We love you all.🤎

This blog will be a great location to visit if wanting an update on Walker and Brandi.
