5/20 Post rounds update morning edition

Good morning everyone

i just want to start off by saying thank you so much for your donations! Brandi and I both woke up and saw it and cried. Walkers warriors are amazing! We got here this morning and saw a familiar face at his nurses station she is absolutely incredible with him and she has been with him a few times now and it’s awesome to come in and see nurses that we have worked before and know that he is in great hands!

Okay rounds information:

Levels are still looking good, all the things they have been looking out for are still in the normal ranges want to keep giving him potassium as that leveled off for the first time yesterday.

respiratory stuff he is still doing amazing lungs looked the best they have this morning, they are still turning the vent lower and lower, the team is meeting with ENT (ears, nose, throat) today and discussing a extubation in his near future. Might need another scope in his mouth and nose to make that decision.

fluids still doing great upping his fluids and his feeds to 40ml every three hours now! That is 4 times the amount he was getting just 5 days ago. He is doing great with it as well.

Plan for today- make more adjustments to the ventilator, discuss with ENT about extubation or what might need to happen for that, increase feeds, check his levels, let him sleep and hold him. We have not many specialists that are supposed to be checking on us today but we have been told that before.

Brandi is still kicking butt at being a mom. She is definitely tired today, so I told her you need to nap when Walker naps, don’t worry about him while you sleep I will take care of him and if doctors come in I’ll wake you up but it’s supposed to be a calmer day for us, pending what ENT says.

Thank you again for everyone single one of you. We tell Walker everyday that he has an army of people thinking and praying for him everyday. He is sleeping so well this morning. Brandi is too!
