5/15 evening update

Good evening everyone

We got down to Walker at about noon today and let me tell you when we walked into the room and started talking he went crazy! We got all rinsed up and sanitized and started holding his hand and talking to him and was so happy. He was under light therapy today due to his levels starting to rise for jaundice, we called it him being in a tanning bed all day they have this blanket that does the light therapy as well so he was able to have it all the way around him.

Chloe his nurse (she’s been with him two days now) is absolutely amazing. We asked her if we could hold him and went and got someone and mom got to hold him first. She got an hour and a half, it was time for her to get nutritients for him so I got to have some time with him as well! Got almost two hours and let me tell you his stats and oxygen is best when we are holding him. I forgot to say he was a little fussy with mom and we couldn’t figure it out Chloe came in and we were trying to figure what was going on she left to grab someone to put him back in his isolet and as soon as she left he let out the biggest fart I have ever heard a baby make! After the fart he settled back down and was calm and peaceful again. Chloe also made Walker a sign today of his name and hung it up in his room!

Once I said I got to hold him long enough they got him back in bed and we notice he isn’t on a catheter anymore! That’s great news! We then had dinner with him and he got the news he gets more milk. Went for 8 m/l up to 11m/l might not seem like much but he was getting so full and sleeping wonderfully. We then talked about how we are both feeling and consoled with each about the week we have had. While this was going on the kidney team came it. They said with his increase in urine they don’t think they need to check on him for a month! That’s great! Shift change came and George his first nurse that he got at children’s was his nurse again tonight and we said oh George has got him we are going home to get more rest.

We are home and going to get more rest, hang out with dogs. We are gonna get up earlier tomorrow so we can make it rounds in the morning with the doctors. It was a great day he is improving! Thank you everyone! Hope you all have a great night we will see you in the morning!
